Who We Are

The Intrinsic Experience is a personal project by Ie McAteer, documenting a 70-day Ayahuasca immersion in Costa Rica and the philosophy behind it. This site also hosts the Love Is in the Air social experiment (Map of Love). We are not a corporation. We are one person doing transparent work.

What We Collect

Consultation Vetting Form

If you submit the Work With Me form, we collect: your name, email, location, experience background, goals, and challenge description. This information is sent directly to our email via Resend (our email provider) and is not stored in any database. It exists only in our inbox.

Love Bridge (Card Number)

If you enter a card number on the Love Bridge page, that number stays entirely in your browser. It is used only to pre-populate a text message on your device. We never see it, store it, or transmit it to any server.

Map of Love

The Map of Love displays sponsor messages that were voluntarily submitted as part of the Love Is in the Air social experiment. These messages are stored in a static data file and displayed publicly on the map. If you are a participant and wish to have your message removed, contact us directly.

SMS / Text Messaging

If you send a text message to The Intrinsic Experience (e.g. via a Love Is in the Air card), we receive your phone number and message content through Twilio, our messaging provider. We use this information solely to respond to your message and connect you to the Love Is in the Air social experiment. We do not sell, share, or use your phone number or message data for marketing purposes or with any third party. Twilio processes messages on our behalf under their privacy policy. You may opt out of messages at any time by replying STOP.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand basic page traffic (which pages are visited, how often). This collects anonymous, aggregated data. No cookies are set. No personal information is tracked. No third-party advertising or tracking scripts run on this site.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data
  • We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels
  • We do not store form submissions in a database
  • We do not create user profiles or accounts
  • We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking service

Third-Party Services

Vercel hosts this website and provides anonymous analytics. Their privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data processing.

Resend processes emails from the consultation form. They act as a data processor on our behalf and do not use your data for their own purposes.

Twilio processes SMS/text messages sent to our phone number. They act as a data processor on our behalf. Your phone number and message content are not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

GoFundMe handles all donation transactions externally. When you click a GoFundMe link, you leave our site and enter their platform, governed by their own privacy policy.

Mapbox provides the interactive map. Mapbox may collect anonymous usage data when the map loads. No personal data is sent to Mapbox by this site.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask what data we hold about you, request its deletion, or ask to be removed from the Map of Love. Since we hold minimal data (only emailed form submissions), fulfilling these requests is straightforward. Contact us at any of our social channels linked in the footer.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not reduce your rights without clear notice.
